I remember seeing Big Al in concert in Leicester,Mass a couple of times & once in Spencer,Mass. I'm proud to have an autographed CD & autographed T-Shirt in my collection. I was surprised to find out that Big Al lived in Leicester,Mass for a good number of years. He will be greatly missed. Our loss is heaven's gain.

I met Big Al in the early 80's. His wife invited me to a Tom Jones show. Tom sang one of Big Al's songs he wrote. I met Tom back stage. He said I looked like Brooke Shields. He gave me a big KISS. Steve Melanson-do you remember me? I was your Fathers good friend!

when i was young i went with my dad walter downing to see my uncle Al play in concert before and i will never forget that day because my uncle Al was so wounderful, he owned that stage. so when i sing on stage i thank of my uncle and my father.
